Although dog training may come to mind because you have a new puppy at home, dog obedience training is really for all dogs - not just the fancy breeds or show dogs. Dogs live very much in the 'now', they react to the 'now', yes, they carry past experiences and baggage similar to us, however, their REactions are in the 'now'. Step number one. Rule out pain or health problem.You can do this by taking a closer look at your dog. Examine his body for any abrasion or splinter. Check his vital signs. See if he is not limping when he's walking. Do you know that thyroid problem as well as diabetes has similar symptoms with dog depression? If he's not suffering from any of these, he might be really suffering from depression.

Once I gave the treats, I ignored the dogs, or they would hound me for more treats, and eventually they would come to me, get their treat, and gradually wander back to their previous activities of grazing, searching for non-existent rabbits, etc. Then I stepped up the training. Calling the dogs to me in the middle of the back yard is one thing, but having them all race to me at the back door is entirely different. In other words, they react instinctively before deliberating. In our communications with animals, if we can teach them how to stop dog from barking to build in a delay before responding, we have created the precondition for choice, the choice of an adaptive rather than reactive behavior.  
  
The scene in a dog obedience school is just like life. In life there is a lot of noise, so much things going on, etc. In these classrooms there is a lot of noise to show them that they must learn no matter what the scenario is. Dog obedience training is something that every dog needs to learn and it shouldn't take long for him to understand.
